The following is a transcript of my commentary from the Tom Joyner Morning Show from earlier today:
There is no way to put into words the love and respect that I have for Tom Joyner or the love affair that I’ve had with Tom Joyner Morning Show listeners for almost 12 years now.

It has been 40 years – a lifetime – since Martin Luther King, Jr. was felled in Memphis, Tennessee.
His life of committed activism, and his martyrdom, has left an indelible mark upon the world.
There were, indeed, echoes of him, in Black and some White churches this past Easter, but also in what the corporate media has called “incendiary” speeches of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
I did not “quit” the Tom Joyner Morning Show effective immediately. In July I will celebrate my 12th anniversary with the show, and as I discussed with Tom, it is my intention to take on the issues of the day in my commentary twice every week with the same energy, passion and commitment until the end of June.
